Description

The Seine bracelet from the Bangels Bog Oak Bracelets collection is a refined expression of minimalism shaped by time. Crafted from rare, natural Bog Oak — oak preserved in peat bogs for 600 to 6000 years — it brings together ancient material and contemporary hand craftsmanship.

Each bracelet is carved from a single, solid block of Bog Oak, entirely handmade from one piece of wood. Its naturally black color is not the result of staining, but of centuries-long natural processes beneath the earth. As every plank of Bog Oak differs in tone and grain, each bracelet is truly one of a kind. Natural variations in color and grain mean that the final piece may differ slightly from the reference image.

The surface is finished with a brushed texture, enhancing the natural structure of the wood while giving the bracelet a raw yet elegant character. Due to the handcrafted nature of the piece, subtle differences between individual bracelets are a testament to their authenticity.

Custom engraving is available upon request for an additional fee, allowing the bracelet to become a personal symbol or a meaningful gift.

Prized throughout history, bog oak has long been associated with power, prestige, and the highest forms of craftsmanship. In medieval and Renaissance Europe, this fossilized wood was used to craft thrones, royal furnishings, and artifacts for the nobility, symbolizing both strength and timelessness. Kings and emperors valued bog oak not only for its rich, dark beauty but also for its unparalleled durability, making it a fitting material for pieces destined to last for generations. Its extraordinary density and hardness, a result of mineral infusion, made it a symbol of resilience and legacy.
Each piece of bog oak tells a story that stretches back to ancient forests that once covered vast landscapes. The intricate grain patterns, rich textures, and deep hues bear witness to centuries of natural transformation. As a material that bridges the organic and mineral worlds, it embodies both the passage of time and the enduring beauty of nature.

Bog Oak, a rare and natural material that requires gentle care to preserve its beauty and durability. Bog Oak is considered one of the hardest woods in the world—often compared to diamonds among gemstones—yet, like diamonds, it is also very brittle. This means it may crack or break if subjected to impact or sudden force.

To keep your wood in the best condition, avoid prolonged exposure to water, moisture, and extreme temperatures.

Clean the wooden parts gently with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use detergents or abrasive material.

This object is made from a natural material. Visible variations in structure, color, and texture are a sign of authenticity and uniqueness, not a defect. With proper care, your bog oak will age beautifully and remain a distinctive accessory for years to come.
